Cosmeceutical is a fancy word for a cosmetic with pharmaceutical benefits.

Most cosmeceuticals can only be purchased in a physician office, due to a higher percentage of active ingredients.

 

 Department stores products are buffered with ingredients such as parabens, waxes, oils, fragrance and water. Cosmeceuticals may also contain some of these ingredients for stabilization, but are more likely to have a higher strength of the active ingredient.
